While the 19th edition of Documentarist is taking place in Istanbul, the festival excitement extends to Gaziantep this year with a parallel program. The “The World We Consume: Documentarist Ecology Meetings” event, supported by the European Union under the CultureCIVIC: Culture and Arts Support Program, will take place on June 19-20-21 in partnership with Kırkayak Kültür.

The program will open on Friday evening with ” On the Dry Rock” (Kuru Taşın Başı) directed by Yeşim Ustaoğlu and Selen Heinz. Saturday evening will feature a selection of four short films about biodiversity in Lebanon (“Seeds of Dignity,” ” “The Earth Weavers”, “Manthöür Bayrüt,” and “The Snake Hill”), and Sunday evening will screen “Voice of the Land” (Tierra que Habla), an Argentinian film by Ana Fraile and Lucas Scavino.

The open-air film screenings, held on the terrace of the Kırkayak Kültür Migration and Cultural Studies Center, are free and open to all life and nature advocates.
