Regional Boarding Primary Schools (YİBO), established in 1962 with the stated purpose of providing access to education for children in mountainous and scattered settlements who lacked such access, were officially founded in 1962. YİBO is a documentary that focuses on the testimonies of students who attended these schools, which operated in different cities between 1962 and 2010. The experiences conveyed in the documentary, composed of archival footage and images of abandoned YİBOs, aim to contribute to social memory by making visible the inequalities experienced by children, assimilation policies, and militaristic disciplinary practices.
