“One Homeland Two Homes” questions borders, identity, and the meaning of home. Centered on an ever-evolving sense of belonging, the story follows six queer individuals who migrated from Cyprus to Berlin. In Cyprus, borders and questions of identity are inseparable. Cypriot identity reflects the struggle of communities attempting to coexist across imposed borders. The forced displacement caused by the ethnic conflict of the 1960s continues to undermine a shared sense of belonging, as the island remains divided. Emerging from this unstable backdrop, the narrators seek to redefine home in a new country. Though Berlin lacks visible borders, it carries its own quiet divisions, felt through moments of distance and alienation.
