Berke Baş
Turkish with English subtitles

Visiting her hometown Ordu in Turkey’s Blacksea region filmmaker Berke Bas discovers the fragmented life of her great-grandmother together with her ‘unspeakable’ Armenian origins. For some inhabitants their memories are the edifice of the city’s history transmitted through generations but are destined to remain “in the family.” Through conversations with family members and the city’s last remaining Armenians the film tries to restore a past that is on the verge of being lost.
